FORMER LEICESTER CAPTAIN ROBERT HUTH IMPRESSED WITH CLUB’S 25-MAN SQUAD
The Premier League have published clubs’ squad lists for the first half of the season, with development squad skipper Brunt earning a place to make him an option for Brendan Rodgers. Lewis Brunt has been handed a place in Leicester City’s 25-man Premier League squad as Ricardo Pereira misses out through injury.
Ricardo, out until the new year with an Achilles injury he suffered in the final pre-season friendly of the summer, is the only senior player excluded by City. That means the club’s long-term absentee, Ryan Bertrand, does get a spot in the squad.
As with last season, City have filled out every spot in their 25-man list. At least eight homegrown players are needed to be able to register a full quota of players, and City have 13. But by filling out their squad, it does rule out any free transfers between now and January.
Left-back Luke Thomas does not feature in the 25-man squad as he is still eligible for the Under-21 list until next season. He is joined there by the club’s academy prospects, including the likes of Wanya Marcal-Madivadua and Will Alves.
